Sarah Rodgers is a composer and conductor and a direct descendant of the family of Henry Purcell. Sarah has played an active part in supporting composers over many years. She has been Chairman of the Composers Guild of Great Britain and a Director of the British Music Information Centre. Sarah was a founding Director of BASCA, elected Chairman in 2009 and held the post for four years. She has also served on the MCPS Board and on the Boards of the MCPS-PRS Alliance from 1995 to 2013. She is currently on the Managing Committee of the PRS for Music Members Benevolent Fund.
In 2003, Sarah created the British Composer Awards, and was Artistic Director of the Awards for their first 11 years, establishing them as one of the most important annual events for UK composers. Her music has been performed across the UK, as well as in Europe, the USA, Australia, New Zealand and China. She is recorded on the SOMM label and published by Stainer&Bell, OUP, Recital Music and Impulse Edition. Her work has also been broadcast on BBC Radio 3 and Classic fm.
Sarah is a partner in Impulse Music Consultants and a Director of tutti.co.uk, promoting composers and performers and helping them to gain access to worldwide distribution through sales of CDs and sheet music and via digital downloads.
